Last weekend, a Springfest event was held at my daughters’ school. Her school is a Waldorf-inspired one, so there is plenty of outdoor activity and nature inspired learning. The playground consists of a sand pit enclosed by some standing logs, some wooden stairs, a community school garden and a gathering circle defined by some wooden benches made of tree logs.
The Springfest was a wonderful celebration and welcoming of Spring. There was a bouncy castle (where my son spent the majority of his time!), a face painting station, a Maypole dance, and a wooden chime making station. We didn’t get around to making a wooden chime, as much as I wanted to … naturally, we ran out of time after having lunch, painting faces, and playing on the bouncy castle!

How much fun!! My kids love getting their faces painted and doing out door activities. I love them too because they are always exhausted afterward and nap well. 😉

I’ve experienced Montessori schools, private, catholic, religious and public. I’ve never heard of Waldorf inspired. I will have to investigate. The Springfest looks like what we call Field Day! Super Fun!
