I have signed up for a meditation program that is being offered on the Mentors Channel (www.mentorschannel.com), titled “21 Days of Gratitude”. The meditation that I chose to explore today is called Acceptance in the Workplace, led by John Perkins. It was precisely what I needed to hear today. Not so much regarding finding peace and acceptance in the workplace, but more so, I needed to hear the words spoken that there is hope for our planet and its people. That there is hope for our planet and humanity as a whole if we all just start somewhere, in our day to day lives, with respecting each other and our individual purposes. Some of what John spoke of in this meditation is that we are going through a revolution – a revolution in consciousness. This is a new period in history, perhaps the greatest revolution humanity has ever experienced.
We are truly waking up to the way we live, to the idea that we must change the way we live, and the way we practice politics and economics. John speaks of how much he travels, and that all around the world, people are waking up. We need to understand that if we want for our children and grandchildren to inherit a healthy planet, we need to look to the benefits for all sentient beings. Everyone must thrive. We must take care of the entire planet. We need to enter a new world. A sustainable world is not about profits and profits and profits. We are living on a very fragile space station – one that doesn’t have any shuttles. We can’t just get off, and why should we or our children and grandchildren want to? We need to take care of this place.
John goes on to speak of the importance of the workplace, and how this is where the majority of us spend most of our time and most of our energy. It is so important to understand the importance of coming together, and joining our paths together in the process of creating a sustainable world, a spiritually fulfilling world, and allowing our passions and skills to come out. Every one of us has skills and individual passions where we can direct our efforts and recognize that those who we work with also have passions and skills which can be inspired and empowered to move us forward to creating a world which we will be happy to pass along to our children and grandchildren.
I know I have mentioned this before, probably many times, but I adhere firmly to the idea of setting up a world that will sustain at least seven generations after our own. I do not adhere to the idea that as only one person, I hold no sway toward what becomes of this world. Rather, I maintain that each and every one of us, we are entirely one person – one person filled to the brim with hope, possibility, wisdom, and true magic.
Indeed, we are the change we wish to see in this world.
This meditation came with a Daily Insight:
“When we are busy doing what the universe created us to do, we have little time to try and control someone else’s actions.”
It also came with a Quote of the Day:
“He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings, and all beings in his own Self, and looks on everything with an impartial eye.” –Gautama Buddha
…and a Daily Thought:
I focus on my life’s work and allow others to do what is right for them.
I love the daily thought “I focus on my life’s work and allow others to do what is right for them.”
I honestly try to live my life based on that type of philosophy. If what someone is doing doesn’t hurt me, then they can do what they’d like. What they do may not be right for me, or could actually make me shudder while thinking of it, but it’s not my place to criticize someone else for doing what’s best for them in a situation I know very little about. I sometimes wish more people would keep that as a daily thought every day 🙂
Thank you for this inspiration post. The truth is, I go through phases of feeling a sense of awakening, but it is usually followed by a sense of disappointment. In the end, I try not to have too much hope in man and instead focus on what I can change in my own life. I sincerely do hope we are able to progress as a people of this earth …. for the sake of all living things, including our children and future generations.
I hope for the same, Sherrie, very much so. I have some down days about it all as well, but mostly I feel positive about it all. Thank you for your comment 🙂
Very inspirational post! I’ve had so much go on in my life and if it wasn’t for my spiritual beliefs and continuous search for positive thoughts, I would have lost it. I accept people for who and what they are. Have a very nice Thanksgiving Holiday:)
