Essential oils and aromatherapy are fabulous ways to clear your home (and your body, mind and spirit!) of stagnant energies. There are plenty of pre-made blends available for purchase these days, but if you wish to try some home made aromatherapy blends, I have put together some of my favorites for you.
Arborvitae Essential Oil
Arborvitae essential oil will supply you with what you need to get yourself through the winter season! Native Americans have used this plant and oil for centuries as a potent healing agent. Arborvitae oil offers a vast array of health benefits and additional practical benefits.
Arborvitae possesses inherent preservative properties which assist in the prevention of wood rot. The Arborvitae tree is called the tree of life (arbor = tree, vitae = life), and the wood itself provided baskets, vessels, totem poles, clothing, and many other living essentials for the Native Americans.
Arborvitae oil supplies similar properties when it comes to physical health by supporting normal cell function and diffusing harmful environmental elements and seasonal threats. This is largely due to its high tropolone content. The oil’s strong purifying properties, along with its natural ability to repel insects, make it a potent ally to have on hand in the great outdoors.
Here’s How to Use It:
To cleanse and purify surfaces or hands, add 3-4 drops arborvitae to a spray bottle then fill the rest with distilled water. Shake well and use as needed.
For the body: put 1-2 drops on your pulse points to support natural cell function. You can also use arborvitae to keep bugs away by diffusing the oil throughout the affected area or creating your own bug spray. Finally, you can apply arborvitae topically to support skin health. Simply rub 1-2 drops softly over the affected area.
Wood Preservation Polish Recipe Blend:
What You Will Need:
4 drops Arborvitae Essential Oil
2 drops Lemon Essential Oil
Other surface cleansing uses include applying it to wood for preservation. Blend together the oils and, with a soft rag, polish up any antiques you’ve been meaning to refresh, or simply give old furniture some new life. It will smell fabulous, too!
Cassia Essential Oil
Use cassia to pump up your blood flow, especially if you have hands and feet that tend toward coldness or if you have poor circulation. Cassia oil can be used as a substitute for cinnamon, and offers as many health benefits and supportive properties as its sister oil. For instance, cassia possesses natural immune stimulant properties that help protect against environmental threats. Cassia supports digestive health and strengthens circulation, and this allows it to relieve achy and stiff joints.
The oil’s powerful properties, along with its natural ability to uplift all in the vicinity with its warm aroma, make it a powerful ally during seasonal changes … or whenever your immune function needs a bit of a boost.
Here’s How to Use It:
To enhance immune function, add 1-2 drops cassia to a veggie capsule and take once a day.
To improve your digestive health, blend 1-2 drops cassia with 1-2 drops lemon in your drinking water and drink this first thing in the morning or after a small amount of food. This can also be used to calm cravings and relieve hunger throughout the day. You can also apply cassia topically to support achy muscles and joints. Simply dilute 1-2 drops and rub softly over the affected area.
Festive Cheer Spray Blend Recipe:
What You Will Need:
1 Tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
3 drops Cassia Essential Oil
3 drops Clove Essential Oil
3 drops Wild Orange Essential Oil
Distilled or Tap Water
Uplift your spirits with a warm and cheery room spray during the holiday season by simply combining all ingredients in an 8 ounce glass spray bottle, filling the remainder with distilled water. Shake vigorously to blend and spray in the air as needed.
Clove Bud Essential Oil
Often used for the improvement of oral health, clove bud oil offers a large number of versatile health benefits. Clove Bud oil possesses natural hygiene supporting properties that will help to protect the teeth and gums, and support heart health by boosting blood circulation (due to its high eugenol content).
Clove bud is naturally rich in antioxidants, which combat free radicals in the body and allow it to support the immune system and overall bodily functions. The oil’s strong energizing properties, along with its natural protection ability, make it one powerful agent to have on hand when your immune system has taken a hit.
Here’s How to Use It:
Add a drop to your toothbrush before the paste to supplement oral health. Relieve toothaches or gum sensitivity with a drop of clove applied to the area of concern. For immune system health, put 2 drops of clove bud in a veggie capsule and take internally. You can also use clove bud to soothe your throat by adding a drop to the back of the tongue.
Always dilute the oil with a carrier oil. Avoid touching the eyes, ears, and other sensitive areas with the oil. People who are nursing, pregnant, or are receiving medical attention should consult their physician before use. Additionally, make sure to store the oil away from children.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus essential oil may well be the first essential oil you ever experienced. It is often used to clear breathing and fortify respiratory function; eucalyptus oil offers a number of health benefits.
For instance, the oil possesses natural cleansing and purifying properties that help protect against environmental threats. Eucalyptus oil supports immune system function, which is essential when there are seasonal hazards. The oil can be used to fortify oral health (dilute with water and use as a gargle, not to be taken internally).
Moreover, eucalyptus can help soothe and relieve muscle soreness and fatigue, while reducing stress. The oil?s strong purifying and cleansing properties, along with its natural ability to serve respiratory health, make it one powerful agent to have on hand when there are harmful environmental threats.
Here’s How to Use It:
To cleanse and purify surfaces, add 3-4 drops eucalyptus to a spray bottle then fill the rest with distilled water. Shake well and use as needed. Add lemon and peppermint for a super blend.
For respiratory health, blend 1-2 drops with a carrier oil and massage over the chest. You can also use the cup and inhale protocol, which involves adding 1-2 drops to your hands, rubbing them together, cupping your nose, and inhaling slowly and deeply. Additionally, for clear breathing pathways, add a few drops to a steam shower.

Lemon Essential Oil
People are looking for alternatives to cleaning products that are environmentally unsound and full of man-made chemicals. Perhaps that sounds like you. Consumer cleaning products are full of highly toxic spliced-together chemicals.
Consider lemon essential oil for your cleansing needs. Frequently used for its cleansing and disinfecting properties, lemon oil offers a number of health benefits that cover a versatile range of issues. For instance, the oil possesses natural purifying properties.
Lemon oil promotes a positive mood and cognitive ability. This is all largely due to its high d-limonene content. Moreover, lemon promotes digestive and respiratory health, serving to relieve minor throat irritations. The oil?s strong purifying and cleansing properties, along with its natural ability to promote positivity, make it one powerful agent to have on hand when facing any number of threats in your environment.
Here’s How to Use It:
To cleanse and purify surfaces or hands, add 3-4 drops lemon to a spray bottle then fill the rest with distilled water. Shake well and use as needed. You can also simply apply a few drops lemon to a wet cloth and use it to clean and preserve leather furniture or remove tarnish from silver. When combined with olive oil, the blend is a superb wood polish.
For bodily health, diffuse lemon essential oil to promote respiratory function or mental health.
This oil is photosensitive; avoid direct sunlight for 12 hours after applied topically.
